About

I grew up in a small village in Stirlingshire in the central belt of Scotland. I attended the local state school, then went to the University of St Andrews for my undergraduate degree in English and Philosophy. After a year out working and volunteering, I moved to Philadelphia for my doctoral studies. I completed my PhD at the University of Pennsylvania in May 2020, and lived and worked in London for two years before returning to Philadelphia for my current postdoc at Perry World House.

Outside of philosophy I enjoy running, cycling, yoga, music, novels, and poetry. My favourite thing of all is returning to Scotland to climb big hills with family and old friends.

Eilidh is a Scottish name, it is Gaelic for Helen. It’s pronounced “Ay-lee”, like Kayley without the K, or Hailey without the H.
