I grew up in a small village in the central belt of Scotland. I attended the local state school, then completed an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and English at the University of St Andrews. After a year out working and volunteering, I moved to Philadelphia for my doctoral studies. I completed my PhD at the University of Pennsylvania in May 2020 and held fixed-term positions at King’s College London, the LSE, and Perry World House before taking up my current role at the University of Aberdeen.
Outside of philosophy I enjoy running, hill walking, cycling, yoga, music, novels, and poetry. Eilidh is a Scottish name, it is Gaelic for Helen. It’s pronounced “Ay-lee”, like Kayley without the K, or Hailey without the H.
